Financial District

Neighborhood—New York City

Financial District known as FiDi gets its name from the city’s many offices and headquarters of major financial institutions This area of New York is actually where the city of New York was created in 1624, which imbues the neighborhood with a historical touch. Modern and timeless skyscrapers make for an almost otherworldly feel as you can’t help but feel you’ve been transported to a time when New York City just began. The charm of this neighborhood invites you to want to call it home.

To the ones who do call this part of the city home, they have the benefit of the fresh air. A weekend walk or evening jog in the historic Battery Park lends itself to beautiful views of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.

This neighborhood is home to the One World Trade Center and the New York Stock Exchange.
